12.59 am Another late night at the computer. I've actually been doing some studying this time. I just finished finding material in John Stuart Mill's On Liberty. Great stuff there. He was a man ahead of his time. I did a bit of chatting to Pete and Thom as well. I'm not quite ready to go to sleep yet because I fell so much better sitting upright! I don't want to lie down yet, though I know I'm going to have to do it soon. I don't want to fall off this chair.
It was a lot of fun taking those pictures of Malorie and Braden! I was just playing around with the ISO settings. Of course it took ages to get Malorie to stop covering her face, which is unusual because usually she begs to have her picture taken. Braden hid under a blanket for a few minutes, but then he asked if I would take his picture with the dog. That is the most hilarious picture I've ever taken! Mitch stuck his tongue out at exactly the right moment! I emailed it to a bunch of my family and friends, and I can't wait to hear their responses!
12.31 pm I got some sleep and feel a bit better. My chest feels more congested though. Still, this afternoon I have to get a start on reading some cases for this essay! I've scheduled today for reading the case law, tomorrow for reading other materials, and Friday for writing the paper. (Ricky and Jack are at their dad's this weekend so I won't be interrupted to go pick them up from school.) Then I get to start all over again on Saturday with my criminological research methods essay. I'm sure I'm going to have to work either tomorrow or Friday or both. Simon's too poorly himself to take care of me while I'm sick, like I did for him when he had it. I'm glad no one ever told me that life was fair.
Braden was an absolute gem this morning! Without being asked to, he got Ricky and Jack up at 7.40, fixed their breakfast, found their school uniforms and made them brush their teeth! Wow! I could kiss him! In fact, I think I will. Mums are allowed to do that. He's even taken the dog for a walk and let him out when he needed to visit the back garden.
I made a donation directly to the DEC last night. I hope to make another one soon. In fact, I'm going to see if I can make regular donations to them or to Oxfam even after the media coverage ends because there are so many other people in need. My charity auction is going well, too! It started with a bid of £5 and is now up to £8.50. I think I know the high bidder. If it isn't my friend Shrek/Simon from the DCSC, then it's a big coincidence that there's someone on ebay with an ID similar to his name!
3.17 pm Candle making again. It does make the house smell nice though. It's a bit of a weird aroma today because I have "lavender" and "baked bread" going on at the same time. It's not unpleasant, just weird.
I've joined Pete's new forum, but I was disappointed to find out he'd made someone else an admin. I thought that was going to be me. I'll flog him with a dead trout and see if he learns anything from it. Nah, he'd probably enjoy it.
I feel lousy so I'm going to crash on the couch with my law books. What a fun day.
8.48 pm I managed a bit of studying and then passed out for a few hours. I feel better now, but still not great. I can't wait until these essays are written, but it would be helpful if I would actually do some work on them!
I'm still very bored.
11.46 pm Geez, where has today gone? I seem to have accomplished next to nothing, apart from sleeping most of the day away because of this blasted cold! I don't seem to be able to motivate myself to get any work done on my essay either. I'm wondering if that could be due to the medication the doctor has me on. Perhaps I'm too chilled.
I was almost relieved to hear that the Swedish boy feared kidnapped from a Thai hospital was probably never there in the first place. That might sound terrible, but if it were my son, I would rather know he was at peace than in the hands of a paedophile. That father has to be going through all kinds of hell.
Simon has finished the kids' computer and only has to shift it upstairs. Now the trouble begins! The TV/DVD player is in the boys' room, and they harrass Malorie when she wants to go in there and watch it. The computer is going into Malorie's room (she has the computer desk), but I guarantee that Braden and Daniel won't hesitate to harrass her to let them in her room to play. She's going to regret wanting one in the first place because she won't have peace in her room anymore. Daniel will be the worst for it, I think, because he's the worst for kicking her out of their room!

I'm putting this one on because Malorie said I couldn't
