Academic Confusion?

I am a Law and Criminology student. That means, at my university, I fall half-way between two departments. Half of my course is Law, and half is Criminology. It is a qualifying law degree, which means I can become a solicitor or barrister after graduation, but I have more options in the job market by having the Criminology bit attached to it since I don't plan on practicing law.

I have an assignment due tomorrow for one of my modules, Criminological Research Methods. When assignments are due, they usually give us a date, time and place to hand it in. The three law modules I have completed assignments for have given those details well in advance.

After handing in my Criminal Law paper yesterday, I realised I didn't know the time or place for handing in the Crim Research Methods assignment! So, thinking the lecturers and tutors will know since they are the ones who have to grade them, I emailed two of them. One replied I should ask the School of Law. The other said it should be posted on a bulletin board somewhere. Both valid answers, but not very useful. So I emailed my course leader. He was as clueless as the others because he works in the Law part of the university, and he suggested I ask the receptionists who deal with accepting the papers. I tried that yesterday, but because they were dealing with all the students trying to hand in their other assignments, I couldn't find one to ask!

I had already checked the notice boards. They gave information on handing in the Criminology assignments that were due in December, but there was nothing about those due in January.

Well, I'm going to show up at 10.00 tomorrow morning, and if they won't take my assignment, I'm going to ask them why they don't let us know how to hand the stupid things in in the first place! I have to admit, I enjoy university over here because the studies are more challenging in a lot of ways than they were at the US university I attended. You're left to do a lot of independent study. But at the same time, you are left on your own as far as all the administrative stuff goes as well!
