Search for Missing Swedish Boy

I've been following on the news the reports that a 12 year old Swedish tsunami victim may have been taken to a Thai hospital, then abducted. I'm posting his picture on the chance that someone, somewhere knows where he is and can return him to his father. As a mum myself, I would hope people would do the same for me if it were one my children missing. When I first saw his picture last night, I thought of how much he looks like my oldest son.

FATHER'S PAEDOPHILE FEARS

A young Swedish tsunami survivor who disappeared from a Thai hospital may have been taken by a paedophile, his father has said.

Kristian Walker, 12, was seen with a German man at a hospital near the devastated resort of Khao Lak on Monday.

Swedish police have arrived in Thailand to investigate the disappearance.

Father Dan Walker said: "I can only guess, and you can only guess, what has happened to him."

He urged Thai authorities to send Kristian's picture to all border patrols and airports to help prevent him from leaving the country.

Dr Pisith Yongyuth, director of Taimuang hospital in Phang Nga province, said a German man brought a boy who might be Kristian to the hospital around 1am on December 27 accompanied by an eight-year-old boy.

"We cannot confirm that this boy is really Kristian Walker; we can only say that he seems to be the boy described by his grandfather and media reports," Mr Yongyuth said.

The youngster was listed as missing by international law enforcement agencies worldwide on Tuesday.

There have been unconfirmed reports of dozens of orphaned children being taken by unidentified people.

It is feared some of them may have been taken by child traffickers.

The Swedish branch of Save the Children, Raedda Barnen, has warned governments in south Asia to give more protection to orphaned children.

"The experience from other catastrophes is that children are particularly vulnerable," said Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, managing director of the agency.

You're very welcome. I've also posted a link to it on the side of my main page. I've enjoyed reading it, though I haven't had much of a chance to respond. It's also convenient because I don't have to go searching for my bookmarks! LOL
