Diary Entry

12.45 pm I got the letter about my high school reunion this morning, and it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to go. It's in June. If it had been in the autumn, like most of them usually are, I could have saved up over the summer from the ice cream van and the candles to try to go, but no chance with it in June. The kids aren't even out of school. I'd cry if it were that important to me, but hopefully they'll print some kind of directory with email addresses or something so I can get in touch with people.

My jaw is better, but it still hurts. I'm going to try to go to my EU seminar this evening. I emailed him last night to let him know I might not make it, but I'm feeling more like myself this afternoon. The pain is bearable, to say I haven't taken any painkillers since about 3.00 this morning or so.

My tutor also told me my mark on the EU assignment that I've never had back. A 65! Very cool! I can live with that! It's not a first, but it's not far off!

I had also emailed my tort tutor to say I most likely wouldn't make it to that seminar, and her reply was, "That's what you get for playing footsie with Dan the Desperate One"! For the record, I wasn't playing footsie with him. He was using me as a footrest on the coach because he was sitting in seats facing Vicky and me, and he has very long legs. I'll never get the smell of his feet out of that denim skirt.

7.11 pm I made it to EU law this evening, and I even managed a couple of hours study in the Learning Centre. I ran into a few people from the trip last week, and all of us agree it was a great week.

The boys are here tonight, and as soon as I walked in the door Jack said he was leaving home. I asked why, and he said "Because". Turns out he was told off for playing on the stairs, which they all know they aren't supposed to do, and Jack hates being told off, but it's necessary. I know from personal experience how bad it hurts falling down the stairs!

Geez, Pete's off to Sydney for a few days. Even though we don't chat much, I hate it when he's gone because I don't get goofy messages from him.

10.57 pm I can't remember the last time I was this tired! Not sleepy, but plain worn out tired! I've been making, wrapping and packaging candles, on top of sorting the kids and the laundry out. I still can't go to bed yet because I need to get my jeans into the dryer before I can get some sleep, or I won't have anything to wear tomorrow. I have to be at uni at 9.00!

I did get to have a quick chat with Pete before he headed off to Sydney. He was getting in trouble from the wife for sitting on the computer (I think she wanted to play on it) so he chatted longer than he probably would have ordinarily. It's going to be awfully quiet while he's away!
