Jack and the Yoghurt
There are days when the kids do the simplest things that just tug at my heartstrings! My youngest, Jack, is home from school. He spent the night at his dad's last night, and this morning his step-mum dutifully packed him a lunch to take to school. Jack didn't want the yoghurt when he was at school (Donna tends to pack more food than they can possibly eat) so he started to eat it when he got home. He ate for a bit until Malorie noticed the lid looked a bit green and fuzzy.
Poor Jack! He sobbed his heart out because he thought the mould was going to make him sick! He has a way of crying so you want to cuddle him, unlike some kids who have a really annoying kind of cry. I'm not at home, so I spoke to him on the phone, and I could hear his voice quivering, "But mum I'm starving!" He's had a fresh yoghurt out of the fridge and has settled quite happily now.
And I've sent his dad a text message asking him to check the sell-by-dates on his other yoghurts.
