Update on Missing Kristian Walker

An update to my original post from yesterday.

The chances that the boy seen in the Thai hospital was Kristian Walker are diminishing. New reports now say:

A 12-year-old Swedish boy appears not to have been kidnapped after the tsunami in Thailand despite earlier fears that he was.

But Kristian Walker, who was holiday in Khao Lak with his mother, brother and sister, is still missing.

Police have now said hospital workers told Kristian's father there had been a child who looked similar to his son - but they did not tell him it was the same boy.

Officers blamed a language barrier for the confusion.

The misunderstanding apparently arose after German hospital volunteer Stephan Kayser helped to reunite another Swedish child with his mother following the disaster.

"The doctor told me that all European children looked alike to him," Police Captain Chaiyapong Kanpai said.

"There is still no evidence that Kristian Walker has been kidnapped but we are still looking for him," said Lieutenant Tuaytep David Wibonsin of the Thai tourist police.

My thoughts are with his father, Daniel. The not knowing has to be the worst kind of hell.
