My Favourite F1 Forum CLOSING!
The cycle of life continues ... Just as a new writing forum opens up new obsessions for me, my favourite Formula One forum is closing until further notice. The David Coulthard Supporters Club is in limbo while DC negotiates the finer details concerning fan clubs, etc. with Red Bull Racing.
I have met some absolutely brilliant people through this forum. I mean actually met, as in face to face, hanging out, having a drink kind of met. Si and I have met up at testing, and then he and his wife and gorgeous baby son came to Eckington to see our new shop. Sandra was at the bash last year, and we've swapped emails and Christmas cards since. Then there's Nati and Sky from the Netherlands and Eliza and Elisa from Belgium. And who could forget Lauren, Roy, Jay and Maddy? Then there's Simon/Shrek, who is/was admin for the forum.
I almost met Thom once. We were at Silverstone standing three feet apart, and we never said a word to each other. I didn't want to embarrass myself if it wasn't him, since I'd only seen him in photos. He never even noticed me. That must say something about me, eh?
The good news is I shouldn't lose touch with these wonderful people, and there are so many others I've enjoyed chatting to. Hopefully, if DC isn't allowed an official fan club forum, we can start up our own unofficial one. For now, any of you guys who are paying attention, if you want to join my F1 Women forum, follow the link at the side! A few of you are already there, but anyone, DC fan or not, is welcome.
